The smoke detector is an object which is located on the ceiling in the hallway of the player's home. It alerts the player of smoke, or a possible house fire. The unit itself has no strobe and has an annoying high pitched chirp so the user should turn down their computer volume when cooking on the stove or stuff in their home that may start a fire.
Although the batteries of the smoke detector last indefinitely and cannot currently be changed, it can be tested by looking at the smoke detector and pressing/holding LMB.
